TCRC Elects New Officers; A Rebirth Begins
The Tanner Community Resource Center (TCRC, Inc.) held its annual meeting on Saturday, February 20, 2021 and elected new board members and officers to serve for 2021. Preparing for a rebirth after COVID-19 closed its doors and weekly food distribution operations, the new board is energized and ready to elevate the outstanding legacy established by TCRC’s founders and past leaders.
A new and innovative fundraising campaign kicks off March 1 with TCRC’s newest strategic partner, Jersey Mike’s Subs of Oxon Hill. Located at the Shops at Oxford at 6017-F in Oxon Hill, Maryland, Jersey Mike’s was opened by owners Maurice and Tracy Jennings of Lorton, Virginia on November 11, 2020 .
The Jennings believe that “helping a lot of different people from everyday life can make a difference in their lives. It is important and it is the backbone of who my husband and I are. Life can change in a minute for anybody,” said Tracy. The Jennings are heavily involved with community partnerships where their two stores are located.
"Throughout the month of March, customers will be able to donate from $1.00 and up to TCRC," said Tracy. The campaign culminates in a nationwide event, Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving®, on the last Wednesday of March, when 100% of the day’s sales from the Oxon Hill restaurant will be donated to TCRC.
Since the Jersey Mike's Day of Giving program started eight years ago,
As a new business in the community and a strategic partner with TCRC, we ask that you go and support Jersey Mike’s with your purchase of their delicious subs. And, while you are in the store during March, please look for the sign and contribute to TCRC.
